1. Bomber jackets are the ‘thing’ this season and this Chloe & Katie print bomber jacket is sure to make a statement without draining your paycheck! I love the fun print; but, if you love the trend, but aren’t into something quite so loud, this black blankNYC bomber jacket is the one for you.

2. It would not be fall without busting out the booties! You have heard Ash and I rave about our Chloe Susanna’s, and our Jeffrey Campbell ‘Taggart’ booties- but a new one on my list are these Free People ‘Swept Away’ bootie! I love the cutout detail. Anything that makes something stand out as unique and different wins in my book.

3. I’m sure you’ve seen them- the 90’s are hitting us in the face with chokers! This AEO triple layer choker does the trend justice by being dainty, different, and the right price point!

4. As fall rolls in, I love my grey’s. Grey t-shirts, grey sweaters, grey shoes- and grey jeans! These are my favorite, go-to grey jeans: Jcrew Toothpick grey jeans . Great fit, thick enough, and just the right amount of stretch.

5. Metallics are here to stay and I LOVE it! I own these Loeffler Randall metallic d’orsay flats and there are very few shoes that I get as many compliments on as these. They are fantastic. This shoe will go with any outfit, any occasion.

6. The day it starts to turn chilly I bring out every chunky, warm, wrap me up sweater I own. Each year I add a few more to my collection. I just purchased this Topshop Patchwork cardigan  a few weeks ago, and now have my eyes on this Anthropologie wool cardigan  and UO open loop-stitch cardigan !

7. I’ve said it before, hats are a must in my book and fall allows me to bring out my wool fedoras. Here are two that are similar, classic, and amazing- at two different price points: the Asos wool fedora and the Rag & Bone wool fedora.

8. Transition all of your ‘a little too short for fall’ dresses and skirts into the ‘perfect fall dress with booties’ with a great pair of tights. I own them in solid black and grey, patterns, sweater material, lined, you name it. I find Target tights are the best variety at the best price.

happy fall!

Mirabelle Tee  I bought this top during the last sale at Anthropologie and it quickly became one of my favorites. It is now on sale, PLUS an extra 25% off AND free shipping!

adidas Originals Trefoil Cap  Baseball hats are a staple in my closet, and this one has been added to the rotation. Dirty hair? Rushing to pick up my kids? Soccer Game? Baseball hat. Love the throw back to the original adidas logo.

Rupa Legging (Gray) I was introduced to this company this weekend while in San Francisco. I met the founder/owner and had a good chat with him about his new company, Evolve- Love in Action. What they are doing by giving back,  I love. I live in workout clothes, so I had to give them a try. I’m sold. More to come on these pants, my review, and this company, soon!

Nordstrom SALE!

nordstrom sale

Has it really been three weeks since my last post?  How embarrassing.  In any event, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale CANNOT be ignored.  I just finished scrolling through pages and pages of sale awesomeness and wanted to share with you some of my top picks!  If you have a Nordstrom card you can shop now with early access to the sale through July 21.

Caslon – Print Split Neck Blouson Dress on sale for $49 (reg. $79).  I love dresses and the color of this one transitions from summer to fall easily.  As the temps drop just add a denim jacket or cardigan and/or tights and boots and voila!  Also comes in black and white.

FOREO – ‘LUNA mini’ Compact Facial Cleansing Device on sale for $74 (reg. $99).  I have one of these and I love it!  It’s particularly great for travel since it dries quickly and holds a charge for months.

Topshop – Hooded Colorblock Duster Cardigan on sale for $56 (was $85).  Living in San Francisco there is a constant threat of chilly fog rolling in.  This hooded duster would be perfect!

Vince Camuto – ‘Peera’ Cutout Bootie on sale for $99 (reg. $149).  How cute are these?  Wear them now without socks and as the weather turns cooler pair them with tights.  They’d look awesome with dresses as well as cuffed boyfriend jeans.

Soft Joie – ‘Lilyana’ Roll Sleeve Shirtdress on sale for $145 (reg. $218).  Another dress that can easily transition from summer to fall.  Love everything about it.

Tom Ford – ‘Alicia’ 59mm Sunglasses on sale for $253 (reg. $380).  Who doesn’t need some oversized glasses?  They ooze glamour with a hint of drama.  Tom Ford is genius.

BP – Open Front Cardigan on sale for $31 (reg. $48)   and a hooded version is also on sale for $44 (reg. $68).  These cardigans are perfect to combat:  the San Francisco fog, chilly airplanes, over air-conditioned offices, and fall breezes.  And they look smart with skinny jeans and sleek flats.

Hinge – ‘Cora’ Block Heel Sandal on sale for $66 (reg. $99).  Versatile sandal in a neutral color.  Again, looks great with dresses, jeans, rompers, etc.

Soprano – Stripe Rib Knit Midi Dress on sale for $24 (reg. $38).  This dress caught my attention because of its options options options… Pair it with flip flops poolside; some white tennies and denim jacket to run errands; a white crop sweater and sandals for brunch– so many options!  And it’s less than $25?!?!

Happy shopping!

gifts for mom

gifts for mom pic

Mother’s Day is right around the corner so get that gift ordered stat!  Let’s be honest… these are really things that I’m currently wanting, but I think they’d make great gifts for moms too!

Gold Confetti Tumblers – set of 2 for $20 from Paper Source.  Whether she drinks Diet Dr. Pepper or whiskey straight, it will taste better sipping from these glasses.  Obviously.

Tom Ford lip color – $52 at Nordstrom.  The Sable Smoke, Spanish Pink, and Bare Peach colors are my top picks… but really they’re all lovely!  A bit pricey for a lipstick, but a luxurious splurge for any mom!

Capri Blue Iridescent Jar Candle – $28 at Anthropologie.  I’m particularly fond of the “Volcano” scent, but you really can’t go wrong with any of them.

Aldalora Throw – $128 at Anthropologie.  Can’t get over the cozy.  Pair this throw with a good book and if you’re not mom’s favorite already, you will be.

Jo Malone ‘Nectarine Blossom & Honey’ Body Crème – $75 at Nordstrom.  I own a couple Jo Malone products, but I don’t yet have the Nectarine Blossom scent and I’m craving it for Spring/Summer.  Simply divine.

MUMM Napa Brut Reserve Rose – $39   Mumm for the Mum!  Because it’s pink, and bubbly, and yummy.  Happiness in a bottle.

Jo Malone ‘Nectarine Blossom & Honey’ Cologne (1oz) – $65 at Nordstrom.  Last time I quizzed the sales clerk, the Nectarine Blossom scent was the best selling Jo Malone fragrance in the U.S.  So there’s a good chance your mom will love it too.

Cashmere Travel Wrap by White and Warren – $298 at Anthropologie.  Mom a traveler?  There nothing more practical and posh than a cashmere wrap.

The perfect card.  There are so many great ones to choose from at Paper Source!  Prices range from $3.50-$8.

spring mini makeover

March is just a couple days away and with daylight saving time, spring, Easter, and St. Patrick’s Day- it is a month full of change and new beginnings.  Still working on how Patty’s Day fits into that, but point being – March is a great time for a mini (or MAX) makeover!

Schedule a haircut, do some spring cleaning on that skin, get a fresh face complexion, a warm glow, and a sweet pout.  Want some suggestions on how to do all that?  Here’s how I’m getting it done! —

Haircut:  The wob and lob (or wavy bob and long bob) are still going strong.  I’ll be going for the lob.  It’s a great length to update your look without going too drastic.  The lob is long enough to throw in a pony tail or top knot, and to camouflage those clip-in extensions for the days you’re craving length.

Skin spring cleaning:  Whether you schedule a facial or do an at-home peel, give your face a pamper and jumpstart that glow with some spring cleaning exfoliation.  I’m partial to the annual laser peel coupled with regular at-home treatments.  The 3-step Power Peel by Ole Henriksen (6 treatments for $50) is one of my all time favorites!

Fresh face:  I recently discovered the Burberry Beauty ‘Fresh Glow’ BB Cream ($44, I wear the Medium) and I love it.  Super hydrating, it’s perfect for bringing winter skin back to life.  Mix a pump of the BB cream with a pump of Burberry ‘Fresh Glow’ Luminous Fluid Base ($48) for an extra shot of radiance.  The Luminous Fluid Base comes in two colors – Nude Radiance (perfect for spring), and Golden Radiance (for that summer glow).  I, of course, have them both.

Warm glow: Last month I searched all over and tried many products in my hunt for the perfect bronzer.  I wanted something not sparkly and not orangey.  And Burberry came through for me again.  The Burberry Beauty ‘Warm Glow’ Natural Bronzer (No. 1 Warm Glow, $52) is everything I hoped for and more… except for the price.  It was hard to part with $52 for a bronzer (?!!?!), but when I say I tried many products – I really mean a $#!+ TON.  And for me, the Burberry Warm Glow Bronzer was – at that point – worth it.  And I will say that the Burberry bronzer seems to be really highly pigmented, i.e. a little goes a long way, so I’m hoping it will last and last and last.

Sweet pout:  While at the Burberry counter I also discovered the ‘First Kiss’ Fresh Gloss Lip Balm (No. 1 Soft Peach, $26).  A soft glossy balm with a hint of color and not at all sticky!  Want a bit more color?  Check out the color lineup from my lovely lips post a few weeks back.
