Holding Horses Velvet Shirtdress. Available in Mauve, Light Grey, and Green. A versatile velvet dress that can also be worn belted as a tunic. I ordered it in the grey and green, but nearly ended up with the mauve too. I’m loving soft velvet this winter.

Hinge Drapey Pleat Back Sweater. A simple cozy sweater in Ivory or Black. The hem is a bit of a high-low and the pleating in the back gives it a nice shape.

For Love & Lemons Collette Midi Dress. YASSS! The copper color of this dress is great for all your holiday parties. And of course its velvet. Also available here in black.

Va Va Leggings. I recently received these leggings and they have quickly become a favorite of mine. The fit and the detailing are amazing! You know how much I love a good pair of work out pants. Read more about the company and the lives they are touching around the world, in my post, here. They have also launched their men’s line this week- I’ve already snagged my husband some shorts for Christmas!

Free People Arctic Blast Pullover. This is the perfect winter sweater. Oversized, a little bit of color- but not too much, and super cozy! I think we all need sweaters like this in our closet.

Sequin Leggings. It’s the holidays! Bust out some sequins! If there is ever a time of year or event that you can pull out your sequins, it’s NOW. Don’t be shy- get a great pair like this and pair it with an oversized black sweater or a silk black top for a classic yet fun look.

Black Friday Sales!

You know from here that I will be hitting up the sales Thursday night in an attempt to check off some items on my kiddo’s Christmas lists- and come Friday, my daughter and I will grab Nana and head out for some shopping! The son and husband would prefer to occupy anything BUT a mall. Here are a few of the stops I will make in my Thursday/Friday shopping extravaganza!

Target. This will be my first stop. TV’s, BOGO 1/2 off toys, Dyson’s $150-200 off, Kitchenaid mixers $70 off, and 30% off all apparel, accessories and shoes for the family- it better be your first stop as well!

West Elm. When you walk in to my home, you can pretty much bet that everything you see is from one of four places- and West Elm is one of those places. They are having a buy more, save more sale this year! 15% off $100. 20% off $500. 25% off $1,000. 30% off $3,000. It’s the time to buy the stuff you’ve been eyeing all year!

ASOS. UPDATE: 30% off everything! Now, ASOS has not released their official sale announcement yet, but I could not skip them- Last year they did 20% off everything. I bought my Christmas dress, a New Years outfit, and my Easter dress during the sale last year. Load up your cart now and come Friday, apply the code (rumor has it, it will be 20-30%) and you won’t have to think about finding a holiday outfit for the next several holidays!

Old Navy & Gap. These two are some of my go-to’s for my kid’s clothes. They have some of the cutest clothes and at such great prices already- throw on the Black Friday 50% off EVERYTHING and it’s a no-brainer where I will be on Friday with a cart full of kids clothes.

Anthropologie. Need I say more? You know Anthro is a favorite of both Ashley and myself- and last year, they did not disappoint. This year everything is 30% off! It starts today! I prefer to go in-store on Black Friday so that is where you will find me! I already have my list of items.

no time to change ootd

It is finally starting to cool off in Texas and I am loving it! I am really in to leather leggings/pants, a statement shoe, chokers and a comfy sweater or tee and chunky, long cardigans. This ootd is one I have worn on repeat the last week-I have worn this same outfit from morning until night by just switching up my shoes throughout the day for the occasion. Casual- do a flat like these, or a flat bootie like these – which is what I wore to my daughter’s school Thanksgiving feast. Dress it up a bit {like below} with a taller ankle boot with a wedge like these or these. Need to attend something that night that’s a little fancier- throw on a great, classic, black, stiletto like these!

gift guide under $40

It’s the time of year where you are running around like a crazy person trying to remember every school party, work gathering, and hostess gift you were supposed to go to, bring, and write a thank you note about. There is so much going on and because of that, if you are like me, you are going to get that doorbell ring from someone you completely forgot to grab a gift for during your last Target, Anthro, mall, let’s be real- entire metroplex trip.

I’m going to give you guys a little tip that our mom taught us – always have some gifts wrapped, labeled with what is in them, and stashed in a closet for those unexpected gift givers that show up! This way, you are never caught off guard or stressed-at least about this part of the holidays.

BP. Stripe Crewneck Tee. A great neutral tee that can be worn on its own or layered. I’m loving it with an over-sized blanket scarf!

Chloe Marcie Small Leather Crossbody. I’m been obsessed with the Chloe Marcie bags for a while now. I love the small crossbody (pictured above) for its compact size that is great for city hikes and travel adventures. And I’m also in love with the medium satchel since it’s my perfect size for every-day use. I haven’t splurged on either yet, but maybe someday…

Hadley sweater. This is one of my very favorite sweaters this season. It’s a great length, neutral color, has a hood; and in my humble opinion it’s simply perfect! For more photos and info check out this recent post.

Hamilton Beach Electric Kettle. Ash and I love our teas- but waiting for water to boil just took too long for our impatient selves- and microwaving water goes against our desire to {try} and be healthy. So, she actually ordered this first and I followed along shortly after. Game changer. Takes about 2 minutes for boiling water. I’m sold!

Wayf Velvet Wrap Dress. I tried this dress on yesterday at Nordstrom- love the soft, neutral color- and who can pass up a velvet dress during the holidays!? I’ll be going back for it soon – had to give the card a break yesterday 😉

Sorel Out N’ About Leather Duck Boots. I own some tall Sorel boots, but have been coveting these shorter ones. Here it Texas, it is rare that I can bust out my tall ones, so these seem like a cute substitution for those slushy winter days!
