Ash’s obsessions

Pink Lace Dress.  Thinking ahead to Easter or just craving a spring dress?  This pink lace dress is perfect!

Wildflower Fields Tunic.  Really loving the florals here.  This top is super versatile too!  Button it up for a more modest office-friendly outfit, or leave unbuttoned and pair with jeans and heels for a perfect date look.

Lilibet Dress.  Another fun pick for spring!  The color-blocking on this dress adds height and the ruffles are totes on trend.  Oh – and there are pockets!!  Love.

Aj’s obsessions

Sephora Collection Ultra Shine Lip Gel. These have become my new go-to for an inexpensive lip gloss. There are so many colors and at only $12 each, I love to buy a bunch and have many to choose from! I have 3 new ones in my purse right now!

Vesper Midi Pencil Dress. How pretty of an Easter dress would this be!? Love the pale pink (obviously we are in to that color right now!), the great sleeves, and the midi length.

Adidas Originals in Dusty Pink. Let’s just keep with the pink theme, shall we? The ‘dusty pink’ color mixed with them being ‘pearlescent’ has me sold! Plus, let’s be honest – the only day I’m probably not wearing some form of a sneaker is on Sunday’s when I’m at church. The more the merrier!

pj packing for hospital

At 8 months pregnant, my feet are swollen and my belly is getting bigger by the day.  Comfort is key, but I still want to look cute – even in my pjs!  So I started looking for some lounge wear to get me through these last couple months and have me delivering in style.

And if you’re looking for a gift for a mom-to-be, I highly recommend a beautiful robe from Pink Blush!  The two I bought are linked below.

Ash’s obsessions

T Tahari Wool Coat.  Belted wool wrap coat is perfect for transitioning from winter to spring.  Versatile color and length– I want it now!

Pink Suede Slides.  Just got these!  I’m pregs to the point that bending down to put on shoes is super annoying, so when I saw these beauties I had to have them!  PS.  I recommend sizing up half a size to keep them from looking too short.

Topshop Ruffle Dress.  Super cute dress!  Girlie and flirty, but the color keeps it grounded.  If I weren’t pregnant this would be in my closet now.

Aj’s obsessions

Perforated Platform Sneaker.   I don’t know how many shoes I own in this style (too many) but there is a reason! They are comfy and cute- and these with the laser cut outs are no exception! Did I mention they come in metallic? Swoon.

Cutout Side Swimsuit.  I’m obsessed. Mara Hoffman always nails it with her swimsuits. Love the colors, pattern, and cutouts! Perfect for any pool or beach occasion.

Sweatpants.  I’m in the middle of moving, so let’s be honest- unless it’s a pair of sweatpants or workout gear, I’m not wearing it right now! These are under $30 and come in 3 great colors. I love the grey and the pale pink!

OOTD: the maxi

Now at 32 weeks, my baby bump and bust have grown to the point where dressing is becoming increasingly difficult.  Maxi dresses are a current fave because they are easy to put on, super comfy, and still feminine.  Here are two recent finds that I’m super excited about – and I’m hoping to still wear them after the baby is born since
NEITHER ARE ‘MATERNITY’ DRESSES!

Madrid Maxi Dress by Ghost London.  If the dress is sold out online, check the sale room of your local Anthro store!  There were several in the sale room when I picked mine up earlier this week.  The dress seems to run a bit big IMO, so you may want to consider sizing down.  I mean, I’m wearing my normal anthro size here at 8 months pregnant… just sayin’.

The Aquazzura Wild Fringed Suede Sandal were a an obsession of mine that I had to have.  Different retailers carry different colors like these cognac ones here, pomegranate ones here and (currently on sale!!) here, gray ones (currently on sale!!) here, black ones here, and beige ones here.

I love love LOVE these shoes!  The block heel makes them sturdy, and the adjustable straps allow me to get them laced up even when my feet and ankles are at their most swollen.  Give up heels? Never!

Another recent maxi find is this great Billabong Maxi Dress, also available here, and (currently on sale!!) here.  This one I had to size up 2 sizes from my non-pregnant size in order to accommodate the baby bump and expanded bust (seriously boobs… enough already!?!).

And these booties have been GREAT during pregnancy.  Easy to slip on and off and super comfy.

They are also super versatile, pairing great with maxi dresses, shifts, and cropped jeans.

getting ready for baby

Having a baby and overwhelmed by registry checklists and recommended products?  We were.  What do we really need?  And what gets used most?  After grilling friends and family with little ones, here are some of the items we determined were key.

Car Seat.  This is a must apparently just to get your new baby out of the hospital.  Rumor has it the hospital will hold the kiddo hostage unless you have a car seat installed and ready to go.  We went with the Uppababy Mesa because it easily clicks into the stroller base that we chose.  We originally like the gray (aka “Pascal”), but ultimately chose the black (aka “Jake”) thinking it would stay cleaner looking longer.

Stroller.  So many options in so many price ranges.  Ultimately we chose the Uppababy Vista in part on the recommendation of a friend.  Most important to us though was that the Vista comes with a bassinet in addition to a toddler seat; and the car seat, toddler seat, and bassinet all click on and off the base easily, without need for additional attachments.

Glider.  It sounds like a glider, rocking chair, or some uber comfy seat is a must for all the baby snuggling and feedings that are going to be going on.  The price range for comfy seating is huge.  We opted for the Delta ‘Emma’ Glider in Flax for its reasonable cost, relatively compact size, overall comfiness, and neutral color.

Diaper Genie.  Our polling was split on the necessity of a dedicated diaper pail, but for less than $30 we went ahead and got a diaper genie.  Better safe than smelly.

Crib.  Not an immediate need, but at some point the baby should have a legit bed.  We liked the convertible cribs that transform into toddler beds.  We picked up the Delta ‘Fancy’ Convertible Crib from Buy Buy Baby using one of their promotional 20% off coupons.  Lots of retailers (like Buy Buy Baby and Albee Baby) regularly send out “20% off single item” coupons that are perfect for larger purchases like nursery furniture.  Don’t forget to add a mattress, mattress protector, and sheets!

Dresser with Changing Top.  Multi-tasking furniture is the best.  The changing top is removable, so when no longer needed you still have a nice little dresser.  The Delta ‘Emerson’ Dresser was the right size, reasonably priced, and matched well with the crib we picked.  Don’t forget to add the changing pad and a changing pad cover.  Done.

Blankets.  Multi-purpose blankets for swaddling, receiving, and comforting.  We were told we’d need several of these.

Bassinet Stand/Hamper.  Okay, so this one isn’t a ‘must’ at all, and it is arguably over-priced for what it is… but I wanted it.  Part of the Uppababy line, it is a stand for the bassinet (that is part of the Vista stroller)… but then – when you no longer need a bassinet –  use the hamper insert for laundry!

Plush Toy.  You will need at least a couple of cute and soft stuffed animals because they’re adorable.  There are so many to choose from!  I picked ones that made me smile and were in calming colors.

Happy shopping!
