Ash’s obsessions

Not sure if it’s the current festival season vibe coming through, or the fact that I’m 8 months pregs and loving everything loose, flowy, and easy to slip on — but I am feeling a boho chic vibe this week.

Free People maxi dress.  Great dress to slip into whether you’re pregs or not!  It’s got a simple black slip underlay, but can be paired with leggings if you are nervous about the side slit.

Free People shift dress.  Wear it as a dress or a tunic, the florals on this are perfect for spring.

Birkenstock ‘Boston’.  Also available here.  I haven’t owned a pair of Birks since college, but I’m desperate for some wide comfy clogs that I can slip on and go.  I love what the Birkenstock marketing folks did pairing the Boston clog with a sleek all black ensemble topped with a city chic camel coat.  I applaud the effort to spread beyond the brand’s nature loving tree hugger reputation.

Aj’s obsessions

Anthro Lace Top. I’m loving the lace on this! It’s heavier than normal, which I like. Plus, the detail on the sleeves and edges is so pretty!

Rolling Stones 94 Tee. I love a good t shirt. I have more than I can count and I keep adding to the collection. Make it a vintage band tee and I’m doubly sold.

Religion Frill Maxi Dress.  Love the ruffling added to this dress- Plus, it’s a floral but the colors make it less in your face than a lot I’ve seen lately. Love.

OOTD: the maxi

Now at 32 weeks, my baby bump and bust have grown to the point where dressing is becoming increasingly difficult.  Maxi dresses are a current fave because they are easy to put on, super comfy, and still feminine.  Here are two recent finds that I’m super excited about – and I’m hoping to still wear them after the baby is born since
NEITHER ARE ‘MATERNITY’ DRESSES!

Madrid Maxi Dress by Ghost London.  If the dress is sold out online, check the sale room of your local Anthro store!  There were several in the sale room when I picked mine up earlier this week.  The dress seems to run a bit big IMO, so you may want to consider sizing down.  I mean, I’m wearing my normal anthro size here at 8 months pregnant… just sayin’.

The Aquazzura Wild Fringed Suede Sandal were a an obsession of mine that I had to have.  Different retailers carry different colors like these cognac ones here, pomegranate ones here and (currently on sale!!) here, gray ones (currently on sale!!) here, black ones here, and beige ones here.

I love love LOVE these shoes!  The block heel makes them sturdy, and the adjustable straps allow me to get them laced up even when my feet and ankles are at their most swollen.  Give up heels? Never!

Another recent maxi find is this great Billabong Maxi Dress, also available here, and (currently on sale!!) here.  This one I had to size up 2 sizes from my non-pregnant size in order to accommodate the baby bump and expanded bust (seriously boobs… enough already!?!).

And these booties have been GREAT during pregnancy.  Easy to slip on and off and super comfy.

They are also super versatile, pairing great with maxi dresses, shifts, and cropped jeans.

OOTD: denim dress

A couple years ago I picked up a chambray shirtdress on sale at Anthropologie and I have worn and loved it many times since.

Here I wore it to Tamber Bey Vineyards.  As an aside, if you’re looking for a beautiful winery in Calistoga (Napa), Tamber Bey has great wine, horses, and a spacious patio!

And here I wore it to Chateau Montelena Winery, another great winery in Calistoga (Napa).  Before visiting Chateau Montelena though, I highly recommend watching Bottle Shock – a comedy/drama that tells the story of Chateau Montelena and California wines.

Don’t yet have a denim dress, or feel like you’re ready for a new one?  There are so many options this season!  Here are jut a few —

Farryn Laced-Back Shirtdress |  Fringed Chambray Button Down  |  Luna Denim Shift

Open-Shoulder Chambray Shift  |  Open Sky Denim Dress  |  Ruffled Denim Shift Dress

DV Sam Bootie  |  Harrow Suede Bootie  |  Vince Camuto Bootie

Calhoun Cutout Bootie  |  Star Studded Bootie  |  Iris Fringe Bootie

And while we’re on the subject, who could forget the denim on denim sported by Britney and Justin at the AMAs over 15 years ago.  (Has it really been that long?!!)
