ootd highs and lows

Let me introduce you to probably my most worn top the past several months:

top | jeans | backpack | shoes | sunglasses

This is the ‘Amelie’ top. I wore it in the hospital after having baby Rem, and I’ve worn it at least once a week since. I’m actually wearing it right now as I type this 🙂 I dress it up or down- boots or sneakers. It doesn’t matter. I have it in both colors – and I could not be a bigger fan. Ash has even worn it tucked in to a pencil skirt for an office chic look!

On a more personal note- Anyone else struggling to catch up right now? I am having the hardest time getting everything on my to-do list done these days, be present for my family and friends, take care of myself, etc! One thing I am making sure to do DAILY though, is my mindfulness meditation. I told myself I would be better about this at the beginning of the year-  So… despite me struggling, I at least feel like I am in a good space- which is all that matters- right?! 🙂

fun fur & life update

Just when I thought it was time to put away all the furs and jackets- winter said- NOPE! We got dumped on with snow here in Utah. We probably got 2 feet up here in the mountains where I live. Maybe more… and it’s still snowing!

Little life update: Life is busy. As if I need to tell any of you that- you know it is. Lately I have found myself being so overwhelmed by the giant to-do list I write every morning that by noon I find myself having done my work out and then sitting on the couch with a cup of tea watching TV while the older two are in school and Rem takes a nap! It’s like my brain just shuts down due to overload- next thing I know it’s time to pick up Beck & Hads and start the after school chaos!

I am going to try and tackle this problem with some new ideas I have- I’ll report back if they work and share them!

If you have any tips and tricks to organize yourself without feeling like you have too much to tackle- PLEASE let me know!

back at square one

Well you guys- we are at day 1 of my new training program- and when I say ‘Day 1’, I not only mean the first day of the program, but also starting from basics when it comes to fitness and running.

leggings | top | shoes | socks

Running through most of my pregnancy (read about it here and here), definitely has helped me keep some sort of fitness level- I can tell a difference on the way my body has reacted after this pregnancy as well as from my short jogs/weights already- but I don’t care who you are and what you did during pregnancy- your body has gone through some major shizz the last several months and is just not the same- not only that, but I have csections so I’ve had to recover from major surgery which has left my core a MESS. BUT- all of that aside- I now have some work to do and as you know from this post- I’m excited to get back at it as I have some pretty big goals to tackle this coming up year. I won’t lie though- it is frustrating when you go out for what should be a super ‘easy’ run in your head (2-4 miles) only to find you can barely make it and WAY slower than your 26.2 mile pace once was!

Back to the present though- I have been jogging about 4x per week 2-4 miles for the last several weeks and think I am ready to attempt a little more scheduled training.

this is what I am thinking:

I didn’t include any paces for the workouts- because I am going to go off effort for this training cycle vs a designated pace- because I really don’t know where my paces should fall right now. I will know better after this cycle for the next phase though!

I don’t have any races lined up officially as of right now- I want to see how this training goes first- then re-evaluate and go from there. I do have some dates in mind though…keep you posted!

happy running!

ootd sweater love

Alright you guys- we are about to release some fun, new JL product this month- but we thought we would release two items early (see this post here) and one of them is this amazing sweater cardigan!

SAMSUNG CSC

jeans | boots | backpack | tee | sweater

Now, this is not some cheap, thin, flimsy sweater. The ‘ellie’ knit cardi is super thick, warm, soft, and amazing quality. The best part- it’s only $54 with tax included and free shipping! Pair it with jeans like I have, or over a dress- it’s perfect. Plus- I’m obsessed with the color. It’s the perfect shade of blue.

Let’s not forget about my favorite white t-shirt either. I wear it all the time- it’s the perfect v (not too low but not too frumpy) and thicker so it’s not see-through. It also holds up in the wash unlike most of my t-shirts!

happy shopping!
